Through the shared resources of local congregations, and in collaboration with other local organizations and agencies, Jesus Cares provides benevolent assistance and hope to persons in crisis. We are primarily staffed by volunteers who are compassionate toward the needs of others by serving to help with a hand up and help people during emergencies situations. Our Mission: The Mission of Jesus Cares McNairy comes from the scripture found in Matthew 25 regarding caring for the least of these. The mission seeks to provide comfortable and safe housing, sufficient food on the table, clothing for the entire family, and other needs as deemed necessary for our citizens’ well-being. The mission seeks to provide a hand-up with referrals to other agencies that may serve the needs not met by Jesus Cares. The mission seeks to introduce all citizens to the love of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. How Families Are Helped – Families requesting emergency financial assistance for the first time are interviewed to determine if they are fully utilizing all federal, state and local resources available to them. After the initial interview, an application is completed to determine and validate their specific needs. Our goal is to equip our families to effectively us the resources available to them and to empower them to achieve self-sufficiency. Jesus Cares of McNairy County prides itself on being a “Hand Up not a Hand Out” program. |
