Jesus Cares McNairy County's mission is to bring hope and provide support to all who are facing adversities, especially in the area of homelessness.

Jesus Cares offers assistance with emergency housing, homelessness prevention, utilities, fuel, financial management, budget counseling, Christion based addiction placement, and emergency clothing and supplies.

Jesus Cares, in partnership with THS, has been assisting homeless families through the use of ESG funds for several years now.

Jesus Cares, for over 10 years now, has been helping individuals and families secure housing by paying security deposits for both rentals and utilities as well as first month's rent if necessary. We also pay rent and/or utiliities for people who are in danger of being homeless to keep them in their current home. Jesus Cares runs two thrift stores which provide clothing, household items, and furniture to those in need at no cost.

The senior staff at Jesus Cares McNairy County has more than 10 years experience in handeling homeless situations. Through that experience, they have developed a collaborative system which entails using resources on hand, as well as, resources in the local community. we at Jesus Cares strive to be an information center and centralized location for dispersing financial aid to people in need who are referred from other sources.

Jesus Cares McNairy County uses the intake process set forth by the CoC.

Jesus Cares practices a "Housing First" and "Client Choice" approach when presenting our clients with available housing options. This gives them some freedom in choosing their new dwelling place. Participants will meet weekley with their case manager and can offer any input they may have for improvment of the ESG RRH program at Jesus Cares. There is also a suggestion box available for clients to anonymously place their concerns about the program

Jesus Cares is now CAP site alowing more flexibility on the applicant's behalf and providing assistance opportunities sooner.

Jesus cares makes known its services through community outreach by attending events in the community such as meetings, health or job fairs, and other local events. We also in the local newspapers as well as use social media sites to reach out to people. Jesus Cares has posted the non-discriminatory policies throughout the agency to express the absence of discrimination in all assistance offered. Staff and volunteers also make known our non-discrimination policies.

Jesus Cares assists participiants with limited English proficiency by utilizing the interpreter options available to the agency, at no cost, in local communities. Our available services are posted in Spaish at the main office and both of our thrift stores.

Jesus Cares's board of directors meets on the second Wednesday of each month and are directly involved in the daily operations of the agency. All funding opportunuities are presented to the Board of Directors for approval along with budgets , staff changes, agency purchaces, and ongoing construction projects. The existing committiees consist of the fundraising, nomination, and executive committiees. The subcommittees in place at the moment are the new Selmer store and Sojourner House committiees.
